Easy French Toast

Simple recipe is perfect for any occasion. Bread slices are dipped in mixture of egg, whole milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract and salt. Prepared bread is fried on hot griddle until egg sets up and bread slices are golden brown.

Ingredients -

3 Large Eggs
3/4 cup Whole Milk
1 tablespoon Granulated Sugar
1/4 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
1/8 teaspoon Salt
8 slices Sandwich Bread or 1-inch-thick slices French Bread
Margarine or Butter

 
Preparation:

1. Add eggs, milk, sugar and vanilla to mixing bowl. Beat with hand mixer until smooth.

2. Heat griddle to 375 F.

3. Grease griddle with margarine.

4. Dip bread into egg mixture. Place French toast on grill. Cook 4 minutes on each side or until golden brown.

 



Making French Toast -
Use Slightly Stale Bread
Use bread that is getting a little stale for making French toast instead of just throwing it away. Soak the dry bread in your egg mixture for 20-30 seconds before cooking.

Dry Bread vs Moist Bread
Dry bread will soak up more egg mixture than newer, moister bread, so be sure you have enough eggs on hand to make additional French toast mixture.
