French Toast Supreme

Cinnamon bread slices topped with whipped cream cheese and second slice of cinnamon bread. Sandwiches are dipped in mixture of milk, egg, granulated sugar and vanilla extract and fried on hot griddle until bread is golden brown. Dish is served with warmed maple syrup and fresh fruit slices.

Ingredients -

3 Large Eggs
1/4 cup Milk
1 tablespoon Sugar
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
4 ounces carton Whipped Cream Cheese
12 Cinnamon Bread Slices

 
Preparation:

1. Beat together the milk, eggs, sugar and vanilla in a bowl.

2. Using a knife spread a small amount of cream cheese evenly over six slices of bread.

3. Top with the leftover cinnamon bread slices to form sandwiches.

4. Dip them into the egg mixture.

5. Lightly spray a griddle or skillet with non-stick cooking spray.

6. Fry the sandwiches until golden brown on both sides.

7. Serve with maple syrup or fresh fruit.

 



Making French Toast -
Egg Safety
French toast is a quick and easy breakfast food, but care should always be taken when using raw eggs. Make sure the eggs are fresh and the bread cooks all the way through to avoid salmonella poisoning. Use disinfectant wipes to clean all counters and surfaces that the egg comes in contact with, and immediately rinse dishes and utensils after use.

Making French Toast -
Crispy Texture
To produce French toast with crisp surfaces, add flour to the egg and milk mixture. Blending 1/3 cup of flour with one egg and ¾ cup of milk or cream will produce the desired result. Adding a couple tablespoons of sugar, a teaspoon of vanilla extract and a pinch of salt will produce award-winning French toast.
